Three upgrades come together in the new Petticrows Centenary Edition: an advanced resin-infused build, an optimised runner and backstay configuration, and the latest fittings, systems and ropes.
Advanced resin infusion production
Since moving hull production to the renowned Nelo facility in Vila do Conde, Petticrows has drawn on their world-leading expertise in vacuum resin infusion. The hull, deck, internal moulding, all bulkheads and every other component are now infused, giving total control over laminate specification, weight and consistency. Infusion is widely recognised as one of the most advanced composite manufacturing techniques.
How it works
- Dry fibreglass is carefully laid into the mould.
- The mould is sealed under a vacuum bag.
- Air is extracted while resin is drawn evenly through the laminate.
- Vacuum pressure ensures optimal resin distribution throughout the hull.

Optimised runner & backstay configuration
Following extensive testing, Petticrows has introduced a new structural solution for positioning the runners and backstay. The redesigned system improves alignment and load distribution, preventing unwanted lateral mast bend while enhancing overall rig performance. It supports the high rig tensions now common in modern Dragon set-ups, and is designed to be easy to maintain.
